Location

The project is located in Tbilisi, Georgia, on the eastern side of a slope, rocky hill. We've decided to use this fact as the primary premise in our design development process. The highway that runs along this side of the area separates it from the Kura river bank. The main entrance will also be located on this side of the complex.

Concept

The main goal of the project was to create transparent buildings with lots of open areas for workshops, lectures, socialization, and relaxation. As the concept is based on transparency, part of the complex will be located underground. This way, the project will be both visible and invisible at the same time. It will create an illusion that the constructions are growing out of the sloping rock beneath them and that the whole complex is floating above the terrain.

We've decided the project to be maximally connected to the landscape and have an atmosphere of the area. The outdoor spaces of the University should also be important for students' activities. As this is a multi-level project, different zones of the complex will be connected by staircases, ramps, and trails.
